Diabetes Coaching For Long Term Success

T1D Parents: You deserve a win.

Diabetes overloads us with thoughts, data, and often worry. However, the heartfelt impact from sessions comes in joining your journey with someone who’s been there. I’ve walked in your shoes, as a child, a teen, and now a parent. (my children do not have T1D currently).

My services include a completely customizable opportunity to transform your family into not only managing diabetes but feeling confident in taking on the “today” of diabetes in your home. Using my unique personal perspective coupled with a strength-based, solutions-focused approach you will gain the tools and knowledge to shift how you think about diabetes and set your entire family up for long-term success. Are you ready?

What does coaching look like?

  • Two people at a coffee shop meeting for Diabetes Coaching and Parent support of Children with T1D

    Listening.

Being able to connect and talk through your specific diabetes challenges with not only a trained professional but also someone who’s walked in your shoes will give you a sense of validation and relief. Whether it's the fear of an overnight low, learning to set appropriate boundaries with a parent or teen, or working through some deeper diabetes questions, I will listen.

  • teen on laptop taking notes during T1D counseling

    Questioning.

I will ask you questions allowing you to think about things in new ways, uncovering ideas or knowledge to increase your understanding of the situation. These opportunities will spark thoughts and ideas you might not have otherwise considered.

  • tools for parents of kids with type one diabetes. pictured: writing a meal plan

    Informing.

You will receive relevant and practical resources and tools to help navigate diabetes in your home and empower you to use this knowledge to meet your goals as a family. Worksheets or community connections, I look forward to educating you in more ways than one.

  • parent with child with type one diabetes on lap

    Collaborating.

Setting attainable and thoughtful goals together using the new tools and information at your fingertips we will construct a plan highlighting your strengths and values. The strategies will feel challening yet do-able and I will serve as your consultant to tread through them with you.

  • Who is coaching for?

I currently work with parents, kids, and young adults up to age 26 (ish) living with type 1 diabetes in the United States. Whether you are looking to address some of your fears as a parent, and/or your child or teen is struggling, the ideal client recognizes a need for change.

  • Who should come to the coaching session?

All sessions take place virtually, using the Zoom platform, and if under 18, ask a parent/guardian to be present at the first session. Depending on your family’s needs, part or all of a session may be with mom/dad or kiddo separately.

*all parents/guardians must complete the Coaching Contract prior to the start of the first session.
